SCE distributes COCs to aspiring USC, CSC officers

In preparation for the Academic Year (AY) 2018-2019 University Student Elections, the Student Commission on Election (SCE) will release the Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) to aspiring candidates for the University Student Council and the College Student Councils, today, February 15.

Initially, the COC distribution was scheduled for tomorrow, February 16. In an announcement made by the SCE, the COC distribution was moved to February 15 due to the Special Non-working Holiday and Chinese New Year celebration on February 16.

According to the 2016 Amended Student Election Code of DLSU-D (E-Code) Article VII, Section 4, “the COC distribution shall only be available for a day.”

As per SCE Chairperson Reen Salvador, those who wish to get their COCs may visit the SCE office, at GMH208, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN, and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

“To those who would like to get their COCs, make sure to come in the office during office hours and on the said date because no COCs will be given after 5 PM on February 15,” she furthered.

Following Article VII, Section 4 of the E-Code, political parties shall be allowed to get COCs up to the maximum copies needed for all elective positions.

The week after the distribution of COCs shall be considered as a grace period for all candidates to process documents, followed by the filing of candidacy from March 5 to 9.
